I feel like I’m coming down with a cold, so I’m just going to stretch today.
It’s very important that we listen to our bodies and give it the rest it needs.
Recuperation is just as important as physical exercise.
Working out intensely every day will quickly lead to burnout and possible injuries.
You’ll get much better results if you allow time for your body to recuperate.
This could mean varying your weekly routine by doing 3 to 4 intense workouts interspersed with less intense routines or working out intensely every second day depending on your fitness goals.
The key is to listen to your body; push yourself when you’re full of energy and slow down when you’re not feeling 100%.
The following stretch routine can be used at the end of your workouts or on its own as needed.
To maximize the effectiveness of your stretches, make sure that you hold the stretches for at least 20 seconds each.
